The Dar es Salaam Regional Volleyball Association (DAREVA) goes to polls on August 18 to elect new office bearers who will serve a four-year tenure.

The body’s acting chairman, Siraju Mwasha, said the elections will be held at the Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner’s sports office.

He made a call to all interested candidates to collect forms   from   Yusufu Mkalambati at Makongo Secondary School.

Mwasha said the posts to be contested include the association’s chairman and vice-chairman. Other posts to be filled are secretary general, treasurer and    technical director and their assistants, respectively.

Other office bearers to be elected are four members who will head the referees’ commission, school development committee, coaches’ commission and women desk.

Incumbent Mwasha confirmed that he wouldn’t seek re-election and instead will contest for vice-chairmanship post. So far only four people have collected forms.

“Interested people have to part with 10,000/-  as a fee to secure the election forms at the Dar es Salaam Regional Commission, Sports Office or at Makongo Secondary School,” he said.
