Information, Youth, Culture and Sports deputy minister Fenella Mukangara donated Sh1m to the women national soccer team, Twiga Stars. She donated the amount when she launched a Twiga Stars Tigo Pesa campaign aims at collecting money for the team in Dar es Salaam yesterday.

Amounts to be raised will help the team trained by Charles Boniface Mkwasa, to prepare for the African Women Championship (AWC).

“It is the responsibility of everybody to help this team instead of leaving it to the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) alone,” she said.

The contribution of the team should be sent to 13389. TFF first vice president Athumani Nyamlani appealed to the public to support the team as the team had so far failed to obtain a sponsor. The team is currently in the second round of the continental tourney whereby on May 26 they will play Ethiopia in the first leg in Addis Ababa.
