Mwanza under 17 regional football team booked a semifinal date with Temeke after edging out Kinondoni by 3-1 penalties during their quarterfinal clash played at the Karume Memorial Stadium in Dar es Salaam yesterday morning.

The teams battled to barren draw towards the end of the regulation time to set up the dramatic shootout. Temeke, who also qualified into the last four through reminiscent shootout a day earlier, will meet Mwanza at the same venue tomorrow.

Mwanza scorers during the shootout were Christopher Maghinwa, Steven Lubela and Juma Masunga.  

Kinondoni player Shabani Nyenje was the only one who had his penalty well taken during the shootout.

Kinondoni trio who missed the spot kicks were Miza Abdallah, John Komba and Juma Masunga.
 
The second semifinal to be played tomorrow would bring together Morogoro team that awaits the last quarterfinal winner between Dodoma and Tanga that was expected to be played later yesterday.

The final match will be played on Sunday afternoon at the same venue to wind up the season’s tournament that kicked off on June 24.
