Mafisango in trouble

Simba Sports Club has slapped indefinite suspension on its Rwandan player, Patrick Mafisango for alleged misconduct.

The club’s information officer Ezekiel Kamwaga said through a press release availed to The Guardian yesterday that the player would certainly not join his colleagues for the trip to Algeria next week.

Kamwaga declined to give details of the circumstances leading to the suspension of the midfielder who joined the club from Azam FC during the season before the last.

The Simba spokesman said Mafisango has been handed a letter that requires him to provide a statement for his ‘indecency’ acts during a training session on Wednesday.

Reports from reliable sources have it that the Simba midfielder is alleged to have assaulted the team’s head coach Serbian Milovan Circovic on the grounds of inadequate allowances.

Widespread rumours have it that Simba players are in go slow protest over meager allowances derived from their CAF Confederation Cup against Algeria’s Es Setif played at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Sunday.

Simba won the match by 2-0 goals before a capacity crowd of over 41,000 supporters.

Kamwaga completely refuted reports of Simba players strike and made a call to anyone to visit the club’s camp to ascertain the reality.

Simba need to play a draw of any nature with the Algerian side to sail through to the next stage of the CAF league.

More of the Mafisango details will be given once the team boards a return flight from Algiers at the end of the return leg tie.
