Mtera Member of Parliament Livingstone Lusinde is expected to be the guest of honour at the launching of ruling CCM campaign for the by-election in Lizaboni ward councillorship in Songea municipality, Ruvuma region.

Key opposition party, Chama Cha Demokrasia na Maendeleo (Chadema), launched its campaign at the weekend.

Addressing journalists in his office on Monday, CCM Secretary for Songea Urban District Alphonce Siwale said that his party had many winning strategies for its candidate, George Odo Mbunda to beat his close opponent Alanus Mlongo of Chadema.

Siwale said his party was taking the opposition campaign seriously, promising to use ‘all arsenals in our disposal’ to clinch victory.

The Secretary appealed to the people to come out in big numbers and listen to the policies advocated by CCM, urging Lizaboni residents to ensure that they use polite language during the campaign.

Siwale also urged people to take good care of their vote identity cards ready for the elections scheduled to be held on April 1, this year, calling on them not to agree to give them out in exchange for money.

For his part, Ruvuma Chadema regional chairman Joseph Fuime challenged security organs to supervise the polls fairly.

He made the remarks at the weekend here when speaking at the launching of his party's campaign for the by-election held following the death of Lizaboni councillor Ali Manya last year.
