JKT overwhelmed ABC by 67-59 points to win basketball club championship in a closely contested vivacious match played at the Mwanza’s CCM Kirumba Stadium, yesterday.

The winners dominated the first quarter to take a huge 19-11 points lead over the then title holders, ABC.

Hard fighting ABC proved their worth as the match gained tempo to reduce JKT’s lead  and trail by 30-37 points up to  the half time mark.

The army team, ABC, kept spectators spellbound as the match entered its third quarter to keep JKT under siege. ABC successfully reduced JKT lead  to trail by mere three points with the scoreboard reading 49-46 points.

However, JKT threw everything in the final quarter to accrue many points as resilient ABC still breathing heavily behind their opponents, neck.

 It  was one Makene who was the most outstanding player for JKT to pump numerous three pointers and bolster his team to the emphatic win.

JKT-ABC match was one of the most thrilling club championship final ever to be played at the Stadium that left basketball fans in blind wave of bewilderment as a result of the high quality game.

JKT women side also emerged winners of the  tourney that attracted  ten teams that included six  for men.

The Tanzania Basketball Federation vice-president Musa Mziya  said the weeklong tourney was highly successful.
