Mlimani Park Orchestra, popularly known as 'Sikinde', is expected to launch a big music show in Dar es Salaam on June 25 using their newly acquired instruments.
The show will be a special one as the band boasts of the new instruments acquired at the cost of 45m/-.
Besides playing music with the new instruments, the band plans to release new compositions likely to take Dar fans by storm.
The band’s secretary general Hamis Milambo said DDC Kariakoo is the venue for the grand show as Extra Bongo and Segere traditional music bands are expected to colour the event ahead of the main show.
Milambo said the new instruments have been donated by Tanzania Distilleries under special entertainment agreement.
The band official said there will be a press conference on Tuesday in Dar s Salaam before the grand show next Saturday.
The band is also expected to introduce their new sign up musician Athuman Kambi who joined shortly after departure of veteran Shaaban Dede.
Dede has crossed over to Msondo Ngoma in a move that shocked Sikinde fans.
