TFF assembly endorses constitution amendments

The just ended general assembly of the Tanzania Football Federation has endorsed the introduction of Board of Trustee which would be comprised of members not exceeding five and minimum of three.

The delegates of the assembly also approved additional football zones from the existing eleven to thirteen.

New football zones have been introduced to cope up with the number of political regions introduced by the Government.

The full line-up of the zones are Kagera/Geita, Arusha/Manyara, Kilimanjaro/Tanga, Katavi/Rukwa, Njombe/Ruvuma, Dodoma/Singida, Dar es Salaam, Shinyanga/Simiyu, Mwanza/Mara, Lindi/Mtwara, Kigoma/Tabora, Mbeya/Iringa and Coast/Morogoro.

The football zones are represented by delegates in the annual TFF general assembly.

The delegates also passed a proposed budget for the revenue and expenditures of the federation.

A total of 7,246,628,650/- has been passed to meet the federation’s expenditures while a revenue amounting to 7,572,991,433/-is expected o be raised during the next twelve months.

Sources of the revenue have been highlighted as gate collection which is expected to contribute up to 22 percent of the gross revenue.

 Proceeds from sponsorship would account for 74 per cent, the biggest portion of the revenue budget.

Other sources for the rest of the four percent of the projected budget includes

Radio and television rights, competition fees from clubs and injections from the World and continental football bodies, FIFA and CAF, respectively.

The TFF president assured delegates that the further polishing of the disciplinary and reconciliation committee would be done through the formation of the Arbitration Tribunal at the end of the year.

The tribunal will be the final organ in the TFF structure to make decisions related to the football disputes.

Beside the formation of the tribunal TFF would intensify the search for more corporate sponsors to back the national soccer team, Taifa Stars.

Apart from Stars, the corporate sponsors are also sought for footing expenditures related to conducting seminars and Comprehensive Plan for drafting of football curriculum to be used in the academies.
