Holders Young Africans host Rwanda’s APR in their final Group C match to be played at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam this afternoon.

The match will be preceded by Group A encounter between Uganda Revenue Authority and Ports of Djibouti earlier in the afternoon.

Yanga, with three points, seven goals for and three against, have no option other than to win the tie so as to book a weak opponent in the next week’s last eight pairings.

Burundi’s Atletico are leading the Group C with seven points realized from three appearances as they await today’s Yanga-APR tie to weigh their last eight opponent.

Should Yanga lose the match today they will be third laced in the final Group C standings and qualify as best losers with possible pairings from Group A winners.

In the event Yanga win over APR they might either top the group or finish runners up depending on computation of goal aggregates.

URA, who play weakest side Ports in the afternoon match today, might emerge supreme in their Group A should they post another victory.

Unless URA have another motive to choose a quarterfinal opponent, they are pre-match favourites to wind up the group stage with unbeaten run and super perfection to attain the maximum nine points.

The final matches for groups A and B will be played tomorrow at the same venue as six-time winners Simba meet AS Vita in the evening game.

Earlier in the afternoon, Azam FC will host Tusker FC to determine the two teams that would progress into the quarterfinal stages next week.

Simba and AS Vita encounter is expected to be a thriller as the home side would be seeking to maintain pride and meet satisfaction of their fans.

Both Simba and Vita have been wounded by group leaders URA as Djibouti’s Ports have slim chances of making a progression.
