Burundian refs to officiate Simba v Kiyovu in Kigali

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed referees from Burundi to officiate the Confederation Cup match involving Simba Sports Club and Kiyovu Sport of Rwanda to be held in Kigali next month.

A press release from Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) and signed by the body’s media officer, Boniface Wambura, said yesterday the referees are Thierry Nkurinziza, who will be the center referee, and his assistants Jean-Claude Birumushahu and Jean-Marie Hakizimana.

According to the release, Hudu Munyemana from Rwanda will be reserve referee while match commissioner will be Abbas Sendyowa from Uganda.

The match number 13 will be held on February 18 at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, starting at 03:30pm (Rwandan time).

The return match will be played on March 4 at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

 

Meanwhile, the continent’s soccer governing body has appointed Tanzanian Leslie Liunda to be commissioner of match No 3 in the Champions League pitting AS Vita Club of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Atletico Olympique of Burundi which will be staged on February 17, 18 or 19 in Kinshasa.

The match’s referees are Mbourou Roponat, Wilfred Nziengu and David Obamba from Gabon while Mupemba Nkongolo from DRC will be the reserve referee.

The return match will be held on March 2, 3 or 4 in Bujumbura.
