Vice-President Dr Gharib Bilal is today expected to start a three-day tour of Mbeya region, where he is expected to inspect ten development projects.
Mbeya regional commissioner Abbas Kandoro told journalists that the vice-president would arrive in Mbeya city today at 10am.
He said the vice-president would pass by the regional head office to receive a report on the region's development before heading to Mbozi district where he would inaugurate two projects and hold a public rally in Mlowo town in the district.
Kandoro identified some of the the projects as a modern market constructed in Tunduma border town and a modern science laboratory at Vwawa secondary School.
Tomorrow the vice-president would visit Mbarali district and inspect four development projects, including laying of a foundation stone for Uwamu Savings and Credit Cooperative Society in Uyole, Mbeya city, and lay another foundation stone for the Mbeya City Council hostel.
Kandoro identified the other projects the VP would inspect in Mbarali district as a rice market at Igurusi and Rwanyo irrigation water dam.
The RC said the VP would end his tour in the region by visiting Rungwe district where he would open an office for Rungwe Small Tea Growers Association (RSTGA) at Bulyaga, inaugurate Kisegese irrigation scheme and visit demonstration farms at Kasyabone.
Kandoro said the vice-president would leave Mbeya region on February 28, this year, and head to Iringa region.
