FINA instructor arrives for swimming course

International swimming federation (FINA) instructor Gerd Nottelmann is expected to arrive in the country today for a one week swimming coaches’ course, the Tanzania Swimming Association (TSA) technical director, Marcelino Ngalioma, said yesterday.

Ngalioma said the Beginner Level course will take place at the International School of Tanganyika (IST) Upanga campus starting on Monday and 56 coaches have already been registered.

The technical director said starting June 11 the German instructor will conduct the officials’ clinic at the same place.

Ngalioma said TSA hopes that the course will help the country have many top and qualified coaches who will take the game to greater heights.

 

“We, as TSA, stay optimistic that this clinic will boost up the level and quality of instructions in swimming. Also this will help us to keep records of trained and professional coaches for the future development of the sport, bearing in mind that TSA will host CANA Zone 3 & 4 in 2016,” he said.

 

He named the coaches who will attend the course as Ishita Tanna, Azia Ndee, Khamis Ibrahim Ramadhan, Juma Uwesu Ali, Meg Meiners, Aime Maulid, Moses Ntilema, Faustine Magige, Rose H Lyimo, Gilman Nyamubi and Rachel Mwangi.

Others are Sheha Mohammed Ali, Hana Ali, Othman Ali, Isihaka Khani, Hassan Mussa, Kundi Abdallah Kundi, Juma Abdallah Juma, Aliy Juma Amine, Fumu Kombo Khamis, Kombo Makame Makame, Mussa Makame Ally, Bakar Hamad Said, Makame Jecha Makame, Samson Makere, Samwel Mtupo, Khalid Rushaka, Julie Stait and Ezekiel Msaka

 

The group, according to Ngalioma, also has Issa Wamba, Peter Aidan Makwita, Alex Mwale, Jonathan Banda, Alfred Mlita, Lightness Shao, Hassan Omary, Danielle Wolf, Lianne Waterson, Ally Khamis, Omari Abdallah, Farid Saleh Mohd, Kaskella Mjovella, Malufya Muyenga, Lingeswary Ramsamy, Tamsin Rampall, Tchalewa Ndeki, Alexandar Mwaipasi, Nassor Salmin Nassor, Rahim Alidina, Stephano Kalengela, Nasssor Salmin Nassor, Robert David Moore and Nyanda Makungu

Ngalioma thanked Southern Sun Hotel management for hosting the FINA expert and also the International School of Tanganyika for the pool and conference room.
