Two of the penultimate round matches of the Mainland premier soccer league are scheduled to be played in Arusha and Dar es Salaam this afternoon.

Travelling all the way to Arusha are dethroned champions Young Africans who have a formality match against hosts Oljoro JKT at the Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium.

Yanga will be seeking to safeguard their respect as league stalwarts as victory would not help to hit the podium as champs any more.

Hosts Oljoro JKT who won the promotion into the premier league berth this season are assured to stay in the berth for yet another season.

After playing today’s match, Young Africans will be resting for almost ten days ahead of the final round match to wind up the season against pace makers and hottest title contender, Simba at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

On the other hand the hosts will be all out to avenge the first leg defeat hen they succumbed to a lone goal at the Chamazi Stadium on October 23 last year.

Oljoro like the rest of the army teams are safe from the relegation worries as the premiership comes to an end in ten days time.

The other premiership fixture involves army teams of Coast Region between JKT Ruvu and Ruvu Shooting who have scores to settle at the Chamazi Stadium this afternoon.

Not mush of a competitive action is expected between the two teams as they don’t have to sweat for points the hard way.

The penultimate round matches will be concluded during the weekend as Coastal Union host visiting Kagera Sugar at the Mkwakwani Stadium on Saturday.

Mtibwa Sugar will be away to African Lyon at the Chamazi Stadium on that day as well.

Azam host Toto Africa at their backyard in Chamazi on Sunday as relegation haunted Villa Squad Villa Squad host Oljoro JKT at the same venue 24 hours later.

The premiership season comes to an end on May 5 as all the teams in the fleet will be in action at seven venues across the Mainland Tanzania.

The season’s biggest derby between dethroned champions Yanga will clash against pace makers and title contender Simba at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Oljoro JKT host relegated Police Dodoma at the Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium in Arusha while at home to Villa Squad will be Ruvu Shooting at their Mabatini Stadium in Mlandizi.
