Vodacom upgrades M-Pesa services

Vodacom TZ, has continued to maintain market leadership thanks to its relentless customer centered innovations. A statement availed this paper yesterday reported the company takes pride in its pioneering money transfer service, M-pesa.

The statement holds that there are close to 20,000 M- agents distributed across the country. It further states that the customers and subscribers, almost 3 million of them, access the service even in the most remote areas.

The company has also increased promotional activities designed to offer Vodacom customers free airtime in form of rewards from various competitions conducted jointly with the Gaming Board of Tanzania.

“We have come up with several promos which offer our customers free airtime once they send or receive money through M-pesa. This is a way of saying ‘thank you’ to our customers and enticing more to this transformational service. We shall keep coming up with more promotions for our M-pesa customers as days go by,” says Rene Meza, the Managing Director.

Vodacom M-pesa service which was launched in 2008 has made a great contribution to the socio economic development of Tanzania and revolutionized the way people do business in this country and across boarders.

Meza is confident that with the planned investment of over Tshs 130 billion for network upgrade will open some otherwise ‘uncovered’ areas to Vodacom’s products and services,

Just over the weekend, the company conducted an M-pesa network upgrade across the country so as to ensure that customers continue to enjoy premium services.
