Ruvu Shooting moved out clear of the relegation zone after thumping visiting Mtibwa Sugar by 3-1 goals in the Mainland premiership match played at the Mlandizi venue in Coast Region yesterday.

The hosts sparkled impressively with striker Hassan Dilunga opening the scoring sheet after 34 minutes before Mohamed Kijuso increased the tally three minutes to half time.

The hosts entered the dressing rooms with the two goal cushion as the visitors were left to work for second half equalizer that never materialised.

Striker Dilunga completed his day’s double two minutes after resumption to open three-goal lead for the host side.

Thomas Maurice managed to score a consolation goal after 60 minutes but the host side stood firm not to concede any more goals in their strong bid to remain in the premiership berth for the next season.

In another game played at the Chamazi Stadium on the outskirts of Dar es Salaam. Villa Squad also moved three points adrift of the relegation borderline having beaten Moro United by 2-1 goals.

Nsa Job opened the scoring for Villa as early as the 23 rd minute but Rajab Zahir cancelled the lead just on the brink of half time mark.

While most of the fans believed the game would end in draw, Omar Issa proved tem wrong with the final winning goal deep into stoppage time to herald a victory for Villa.

Villa that used to dominate the relegation candidacy for many rounds of the league are now out of the zone while opening way for Toto Africa and Police Dodoma to lodge in the dreadful pool.
