Govt under fire for budget secrecy
Members of Parliament have blamed the government for what they term as too much secrecy on the budgeting process. Debating the Finance Act, 2014, the legislators argued that the government only involves MPs in the budget process during parliamentary session, and usually coming up with the same revenue sources. A cross section of MPs complained that the government has failed to heed their advice on new revenue sources and stick to the same budget format every year.
