Only three athletes have been earmarked by the Tanzania Paralympics Committee (TPC) to feature for the London Olympic qualifiers set to be staged in Tunisia next March.
TPC secretary general Iddi Kibwana said his association will send the trio while remaining optimistic over their success to win the London Olympics berth.
Kibwana said TPC has been extended an invitation by the Tunisia National Paralympics Committee to field the trio.
All Paralympics athletes are attending non residential training in preparations for the Olympics and TPC is expecting to select the team on the basis of their performance and merit.
He said the trio would attend a full residential training for at least one month and a half before traveling to Tunis.
Kibwana declined to mention when the camping would take off as his association is still working it out with sponsorship formalities.
The Paralympics official bemoaned what transpired in Maputo during last month’s All Africa Games when the Dar team flopped beyond anticipation.
The team that represented the country at the All Africa Games in Mozambique includes Zaharani Mwenemti, Thomas Jacob, Ignus Mteve, Hasheem Twaha and Yahaya Mwila.
He said TPC has made online booking of the Paralympics Academic Center in London as their training base for the 2012 Olympics.
To his opinion the place has excellent training equipment.
TPC had strongly criticised the Government for the oversight ahead of All Africa Games in Maputo.
