Poor attendance irks Stars` coach

Newly appointed national soccer team coach Kim Poulsen has been shocked by poor attendance of the players he selected to join the camp ahead of next month’s World Cup qualifier first leg tie against Cote d’Ivoire in Abidjan.

Among the absentees includes Simba’s controversial midfielder Haruna Moshi and of all the players, Azam’s most expensive striker Mrisho Ngassa.
Only eleven players turned up at the Karume Memorial Stadium camp as Kim issued an ultimatum for the other players to join the camp within 24 hours.

Those who managed to attend yesterday’s training session includes goalkeeper Juma Kaseja, John Bocco, Shomari Kapombe, Mwinyi Kazimoto, Amir Maftah, Simon Msuva, Frank Domayo, Ramadhani Singano 'Messi', Jonas Mkude, Edward Christopher and Salum Aboubakar.

Azam’s new goalkeeper Deogratius Munishi who featured for Mtibwa Sugar in the previous premiership season reported late in the morning.

Most of the players called to join the camp are believed to be outside Dar es Salaam for holiday after wining up the premiership season.

TP Mazembe striking duo of Thomas Ulimwengu and Mbwana Samatta are expected to join the camp before the team plays friendly encounter against Malawi on May 26at the national Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Stars players who have so far not reported to the camp include Erasto Nyoni, Nassor Masoud, Aggrey Morris, Shabani Nditi, Mwadini Ally, Wazir Salum, Kelvin Yondani, Juma Nyosso and Nurdin Bakari.
