The fourth edition of the Advanced Players League (APL) resumed in Dar es Salaam this weekend as four teams take part in the event.
The tourney will be competed by four teams which have been backed by as many companies namely Tanzania Breweries, Business machines Tanzania Ltd, Tata Motors and Uhuruone Internet. The firms will be backing teams named as Castle Rockets, BMTL Superkings, Tata Super Ace and Uhuruone Rangers.
The Castle Rockets will have the Tanzania national team players whileUhuruOne Rangers will have players from Morogoro and Kenyan trio of s namely Steve Tikolo, Thomas Odoyo and Jimmy Kamande.
The BMTL Super Kings will have ten players selected from the domestic clubs and professional trio from India namely Subramanian Doraiswamy, Shriniwas Rangachary and Pravin Tambe all play for D.Y.Patil Sports Academy which participates in Mumbai Cricket Association A Division league.
The Tata SuperAce will have ten players selected from the domestic clubs and professionals trio from from South Africa namely Nicholas Govender, Kyle Marshall, Jean Pierre Kok all from the South Africa High Performance academy.
In this edition there is also a player from Arusha , Mohamedraza Lalji who will play for BMTL Superkings.
Seven up Bottlers Company is also backing the tourney whose matches will be staged at the Dar es Salaam gymkhana Club venue.
After the main event that winds up on March 11 at then from March 13 to 15. The combine team of professionals from all the three teams will form one team and play against Tanzania team in a build up training game.
