Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has reminded Young Africans Sports Club to pay fines imposed on their players who were found guilty of misconduct during their previous season’s premiership match against Azam FC.
The match played on April 10 at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam saw Yanga players disputing referee’s decision and assaulted him.
The league committee had fined the players and imposed match bans but the club has not paid the fines to date.
According to the TFF information officer Boniface Wambura, Yanga should pay the fine before the new season kicks off on September 1. Otherwise the players will not be allowed to play matches in the new season.
Players who have been fined include Stephano Mwasika, Jerry Tegete, Nadir Haroub and Omega Seme.
However, the club has been given a green light to make use of the players during the Kagame Cup championship that kicks off next weekend in Dar es Salaam.
