Taifa Stars have an arduous task to pass through the World Cup qualifiers should their coach need to bring his boys into the 2014 finals to be held in Brazil.
 
With the new coach onboard, Stars played their first and the only build up match against Malawi last Saturday that highlighted several discrepancies.

The friendly international that ended in goalless draw exposed Stars’ potential weaknesses, particularly in scoring as well as defence.

The team’s poor coordination upfront was a major reason that caused the barren draw despite massive home ground advantage and stadium familiarity.

The forward line is still not sharp enough to make meaningful penetration and score goals to earn victory. Lack of accuracy and skillful play are some of the factors that the coach need workouts before flying to Abidjan for the first leg tie against well-drilled Cote d’Ivoire.

Stars were just lucky to end the friendly in a barren draw as they shared the same weaknesses just like their opponents last Saturday.
 
The Tanzania national soccer team must make the most of the remaining days to iron out the discrepancies before they pull the qualifier card this weekend.

The game against Cote d’Ivoire must be taken with great caution by the Danish coach if he really focuses on wining the qualifier berth.

Cote d’Ivoire have the brand of soccer well documented and turning a table against them is not as simple as some of fans do think though Stars should not kick the game heads down.

 Stars have been paired into the group of teams with impressive background and are regarded as underdogs ahead of the qualifier kick off.

However, coach Kim Poulsen should not  only work on the discrepancies observed last Saturday but has to devise a feasible match winning plan on away soil as well as at home throughout the qualifier series.

The next opponents after Cote d’Ivoire are Morocco and Gambia.
