President Jakaya Kikwete is expected to open later this month in Dar es Salaam a national conference aimed to unleash potential for creating inclusive growth, according to the Economic and Social Research Foundation (ESRF).
An ESRF press statement issued yesterday said the main purpose of the conference scheduled for May 24 is to provide a forum for stakeholders to exchange views and experiences on Tanzania’s growth potential as spelt out in a number of national development frameworks.
The statement said that there will be two keynote papers to be discussed in parallel sessions.
It added that themes for the forum were selected basing on the medium term plan (MTP) and the National Strategy for Economic Growth and Poverty Reduction, commonly referred to as ‘MKUKUTA II’, whereby four potential areas have been identified for discussion.
They include industrialisation, mining and tourism, land management and agricultural growth, leadership and governance and infrastructure and human resources development.
