The Lebanese community in the country intends to form a football team that would pass through the preliminary stages and eventually graduating into a top flight berth, their president of Ali Shoumar disclosed yesterday.
Shoumar said his community has written to the Ministry for Information, Youth Sports and Culture, the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) and other premier league clubs on how best to realise the dream.
Shoumar said the formation of the team would in turn help to improving football standards of the country while cement the relationship between the two countries.
The team would also boost employment to a section of the Tanzanian players who will be recruited to play in the premiership.
One the community gets a go ahead, it would form a team with combined players from Tanzania and Lebanon.
