The Kisutu Resident’s Magistrate Court yesterday adjourned the theft case of more than 90m/- against an officer of Higher Education Students' Loans Board (HESLB) office Esther Budili (26) to July 3, this year, because investigation into the case is incomplete.
The prosecution side led by State Attorney Fridah Mwela told Resident Magistrate Bingi Mashabala, who presides over the case that the case came for mention as the investigation is still on progress.
Magistrate Mashabala adjourned the case due to the absence of the accused after her surety informed the court that the accused has given birth through Caesar three days ago. Budili is charged with nine counts of forgery and stealing 90.7m/-, the property of the HESLB.
According to the charge sheet, Mwella alleged before Resident Magistrate Binge Mwashabala that the accused committed the first offence on between 5 August 2010 and 24 April last year at HESLB office in Msasani area, Kinondoni District.
Mwela alleged that on that day the accused with intent to defraud or deceive included fictitious names of students into a loan disbursement schedule for Bugando University College of Health Sciences purporting to show that the same to be the students of the said university, the fact she knew to be untrue.
