Tallis swimmers win national title

Swimming contestants in action during a competition organised by the Tanzania Swimming Association at Hopac International School in Dar es salaam over the weekend.

Tallis swimming club of Dar es Salaam collected 3,399.5 points to win the national championship held at Heaven of Peace Academy (HOPAC) in Dar es Salaam over the weekend.

 The two-day event attracted 250 swimmers from ten swimming clubs from Dar es Salaam, Morogoro, Mwanza, Arusha, and Zanzibar.
 
Stingrays Swim Club finished runners up collecting 2401 points as Tanzania Marine Swimming Club was third placed.

 Isamilo International School of Mwanza was the best upcountry club and collected 1,082 points to claim the fourth place.

The host club HOPAC was on fifth to edge Dar Swimming Club. Other finishers in the event were Zanzibar based side  KMKM, St. Constantine Arusha Club, Morogoro International School and Aga Khan Mzizima Swimming Club  were tail enders.

KMKM failed to defend the title after poor performance. Tanzania Swimming Association (TSA) technical director Marcelino Ngalioma said he is pleased with the level of competition shown by swimmers.

He also singled out   Amaar Ghadiyali, Iyas Shivji, and Hilal Hilal who were best in boy’s category   and also Danielle Awori and Tami Triller who performed well in girl’s category.
