Dar school awarded for excellent performance

Ilala Municipal Council in Dar es Salaam has given Tusiime Primary School a special award after all its pupils, who completed Standard Seven last year, passed their national examinations and selected to advance to the secondary level.

All 39 the pupils passed their national primary school examinations and selected to joined different secondary schools in the country.

The award was handed over recently to the school headmaster, Thomas Samson, by Dar es Salaam regional administrative secretary Ellyn Mcha to recognise the school’s efforts in improving and promoting education sector.

Dar es Salaam regional education officer Benard Makali said the School deserved the special award for its achievements in making sure that all its pupils pass their examinations and advance to the secondary level.

He said the school had remained to be amongst the best performing institutions in the region after maintaining the number one position in two consecutive years.

“Tusiime has showed us an example that they are serious in making sure that education is improved in the country and sustained continuously by ranking the first position in the regional rankings in two consecutive years…they deserve the award because all its pupils managed to pass their exams and continue with secondary education. This is a great achievement,” he said.

Speaking after receiving the award, Tusiime head teacher Thomas Samson said that 19 pupils were selected to join special talent schools.

Samson mentioned some of the special talented schools that his pupils achieved to join, as Ilboru, Kibaha, Tabora Boys, Mzumbe, Ifunda and Iyunga Vocational.

“The secret behind our success is the school’s good management and cooperation with teachers…this also goes to parents for their efforts in fulfilling their responsibilities,” he said.
