Twenty seven contestants have so far qualified for Vodacom Miss Tanzania 2011 final to be held later this year.
The co-ordinator of Miss Tanzania, Hashim Lundenga, said yesterday that the queens were picked from 10 zones.
Lundenga said three last finalists to join the group will be picked on Friday after Miss Ilala contest.
“Those who have qualified so far are really beautiful and all of them have qualities,” Lundenga said, adding that they were more beautiful than the last year’s.
“We are waiting to pick three from Miss Ilala. Ilala will also produce the beautiful ones,” he added.
He named those who have qualified so far as Chiaru Masonobo, Zerulia Manoko, Maua Kimambo, Dalila Gharib, Christine Mwenegoha, Christine William, Atu Daniel and Leyla Juma.
Others are Zubeda Seif, Stacey Alfred, Rose Hurbet, Husna Twalib, Cynthia Kimasha, Mwajab Juma, Neema Mtitu and Weirungu David.
There are also Loveness Flavian, Asha Saleh, Mariaclara Mathayo, Trace Sospeter, Irene Karubaga, Glory Samuel, Stella Mbuge, Husna Maulid and Hamisa Hussein.
He said aspirants of this year looked so focused and one of them would likely follow the footsteps of former Miss Tanzania who are doing their modeling careers well like Happines Magesa, Tetemaria Malya, Flavian Matata, Miriam Odemba, Rehema Soud, Nelly Kamwelu and Amanda Sululu, to mention but a few.
“This time we want Vodacom Miss Tanzania to perform well the way Nancy Sumari did in 1995 when she won Miss World Africa.
Geneveive Mpangala is the reigning Vodacom Miss Tanzania.
