Companies urged to invest in education

Companies operating in the country have been urged to invest in education since it is one of the best pillars of every child’s life.

That was said in Dar es Salaam Wednesday by Benchmark Productions Director Ritha Paulsen during the re-launch of the second Whitedent Squiz for primary pupils sponsored by Chemi & Cotex Industries Ltd.

Paulsen said education was important to children and, therefore, investing in education would help them build their future.

“Education is paramount to every child without it their future is nothing,” said Paulsen.

She noted that Whitedent Squiz had expanded from one region to more two regions to give opportunities to as many pupils as possible in other regions to participate in the competition.

She mentioned the regions as Mbeya, Arusha and Mwanza, whereby previous Squiz involved Dar es Salaam Region only.

For his part, Chemi & Cotex industries Ltd Managing Director Lakshim Narayan said this year’s Squiz had been improved in terms of gifts like trophy, footballs, a computer set, text book, bicycles whereby about 24 schools in four regions had entered the quarter final.

He said that Squiz would be aired on Independent Television Ltd (ITV) for nine weeks.

ITV Representative Ernest Dilli assured viewers of the best, educative and quality programmes during the nine weeks.

The competition involves Standard Six students of the average age of 12-13 boys and girls.
