The executive committee of the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) is expecting to meet later this week to discuss, among other things national team’s preparations in the World and African Nations Cup qualifier games.
Stars will face Ivory Coast in Abidjan on June 1 in the first leg match of the day one pf the World Cup qualifiers for the 2014 in Brazil.
Hardly a week later Stars are expected to host Gambia before facing Mozambique away in the return leg of the African Cup of Nations on June 15. It will be a busy schedule for Stars as the team has to pass through the possibly torrid qualifiers.
TFF information officer Boniface Wambura said the body’s executive committee waits for the national team coach to return from Easter holidays before announcing the day to hold the crucial meeting.
He said currently TFF is on the dark on the national team preparations as the coach has not submitted his proposals ahead of the two crucial qualifiers.
“The National team’s performance against Mozambique will be discussed at the meeting and we also expect the coach to give us his proposal for the coming games”, he said.
However, Wambura said it is imperative for the coach to arrange some international friendly matches, with the first one possibly to be staged on May 26, a date set by international Football body (FIFA) for international friendlies.
Wambura underlined the need to play international friendly matches so as to gauge the team and open a stage for the coach to asses his players.
