Dar es salaam Gymkhana Club squash captain Deepak Doshi has stepped down as the members of the section are looking forward to his replacement.
Doshi, who served for several years, has been described as a competent captain whose replacement is unlikely to match his competence.
Whether deliberately or as a result of business commitment, Doshi has been alleged to have failed to attend some of the squash section meetings where plans and other development issues are often discussed.
However, Doshi is reported to have stepped down due to undisclosed personal reasons to open room for someone else to take charge of the section.
Squash members do respect Doshi’s decision to step down while looking forward to install another one with possible commitment to drive them into success.
Squash playing members hope the new captain would revive the spirit of the game and organize competitions to boost recreational activities.
Doshi is out of captaincy but retains his status as a competent player.
