At least hundred competitors have registered for the national swimming championship at the Heaven of Peace School’s pools in Dar es Salaam today.

The event is also taken as a stage to choose the country’s representatives for September’s All Africa Games in Maputo.

The event would also cater as stage to select some swimmers for the Peru junior youth championship.

Tanzania Swimming Association’s secretary general Noel Kiunsi said preparations for the championship are complete.

He said his association is very pleased with the big number of swimmers who have shown interest in the competition.

Swimmers will compete in freestyle, butterfly, breaststroke and backstroke.
