A contingent comprising 35 players and officials of the Es Setif Football Club from Algeria is expected to be on board Egypt Air due to arrive in Dar es Salaam today ahead of their Confederation Cup first leg tie against hosts Simba at the National Stadium on Sunday.
The breakdown of the contingent shows there will be 20 players of the team, other technical staff, officials from the team and the Federation of Algerian Football (FAF) and three journalists.
According to the latest available arrival itinerary by the TFF’s information officer, Boniface Wambura, the full line-up of the twenty players is Mohamed Benhamou, Sofiane Bengorine, Riadh Benchadi, Smain Diss, Farouk Belkaid, Khaled Gourmi, Mourad Delhoum, Said Arroussi, Mokhtar Benmoussa, Tarek Berguiga, Mohamed Aoudi and Amir Karaoui.
Others are Mohamed El Amine Tiouli, Racid Ferrahi, Youcef Ghezzali, Youssef Sofiane, Mokhtar Megueni, Rachid Nadji, Abderrahmane Hachoud and Akram Djahnit.
The team would arrive with their Swiss coach Alain Norbert Geiger.
Es Setif will be the second club from Algeria to play against Simba in Confederation Cup after Al-Harrach who were knocked out at the quarterfinal stage in 1993.
Harrach lost 3-0 at the then National Stadium (now Uhuru) in Dar es Salaam before winning by 2-0 goals at home to crash out of the run.
