Kagera Sugar suffered their fourth defeat of the season after Shaibu Nayopa’s 15th minute goal lifted JKT Ruvu to hit a 20-point mark yesterday at the Kaitaba Stadium in Bukoba.
Both teams have attained the same number of points and have almost identical statistics save for the losers who have a goal superiority advantage to stay sixth on the standings table.
The victory has eased JKT Ruvu’s losing streak having dropped six points in their two previous matches at the hands of holders Yanga and relegation-haunted Police Dodoma.
The army team heads to Arusha this weekend as they face Oljoro JKT, their counterparts who also lost twice in their previous games in Dar es Salaam.
The league continues on Wednesday as holders Yanga host Mtibwa Sugar with a possibility of closing the gap at the standings table should they post a win.
