Azam made full use of their home ground advantage to thrash Villa Squad by four goals to one at their Chamazi base in Dar es Salaam yesterday.
The losers were pulled first blood through their ace striker Nsa Job twenty one minutes after the kick off to shock the hosts.
Barely five minutes later Salum Aboubakar pulled an equaliser to cancel Job’s opener.
Just two minutes laternew sign up Abdi Kassim widened the floodgates as the hosts took a one goal lead cushion.
The game stabilised as both sides played briliantly until the last twominutes ahead of the half time mark.
Villa conceded two more quickfire goals within two minutes as Khamis Mcha and Ivorian Kipre Tchetche joined their fans on the teraces to celebrate the four goals party.
On resumption Azam played withgreat composure as Vila Squad tried to work for the goals that were not to be.
The victory has lifted Azam to hit a 35-point mark and narrow the gap against leaders Simba and holders Yanga who jointy share 37 points with a game in hand each.
Third placed Azam had their maiden premiership title bid rocked by Simba over the weekend after losing by 2-0 goals to backpedal terribly.
