Fifteen out of 17 beauty contestants to participate in Miss Lake Zone beauty competition have started camping.
The competition will be held aboard a Lake Victoria ship on July 23.
Speaking to The Guardian yesterday, the organizer of the event Clara Mwassa said that the queens have already started exercising in a camp located at Nyakato-Veta in Mwanza and that the finals would be held aboard a luggage ship named ‘Umoja.’
“It’s our own creativity to have the competition held in a ship aimed at making the even more lively,” she said.
She named the beauty queens to have reported for camping as Irene Karugaba, Monica James, Ester Lawrence, Diana Joseph , Zuella Lazaro (Mwanza).
Others are Lydia Fredrick,Tausi Ally, Lilian Rwechungura (Geita),Tress Mabula, Jacqueline Dismas and Croca Samuel (Shinyanga).
She named other aspirants as Lydia Mrimi, Kakea Paul, Violet Pascal, Jonas Abdul, Edsa Sixmund and Slylvia Anthon.
“At the end of camping the huge ship will anchor at the Mwanza Port where the competitions will be held. This is where the best of all queens will be spotted and subsequently represent the zone in the Vodacom Miss Tanzania to be hosted in Dar es Salaam.
