Asamoah appealed to FIFA saying that Yanga had failed to pay him 5,000 US dollars as signing fee when he joined the Jangwani Street club two years ago.

 

The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) information officer, Boniface Wambura, said yesterday that FIFA had decided to assign the issue to the resolution body after Yanga failed to reply to a letter FIFA sent on the claim.

 

FIFA wrote to Yanga last December via TFF asking them to give an explanation on the claim Asamoah had raised.

 

Wambura said that since then Yanga have been calm and never given FIFA any explanations.

FIFA had already conducted its investigation and that is why it has taken the matter to the disputes resolution chamber for a ruling.

 

FIFA rules provide that if Yanga lost the case they will be required to pay the player, face relegation to the first division, or lose 15 points in the premier league.

Asamoah’s case is similar to that of John Njoroge who also appealed to FIFA after Yanga failed to pay him for breaching the contract.

 

Meanwhile, the race to get promoted into the 2013/2014 premier league continues this weekend with 20 teams   in action at difference venues.

There will be one match in Group A today, pitting Mkamba Rangers and JKT Mlale at Ruaha ground in Morogoro.

 

Two games will be played in Group B today whereby Tessema entertain Ashanti United at the Karume Memorial Stadium in Dar es Salaam while Ndanda and Polisi Dar es Salaam lock horns at Nangwanda ground in Mtwara. 

 

The 12th round of matches in the league will see all teams in Group A in action - Pamba vs Mwadui (CCM Kirumba), Polisi Tabora vs Polisi Mara (Ali Hassan Mwinyi), Polisi Dodoma vs Morani (Jamhuri) and JKT Kanembwa vs Rhino Rangers (Lake Tanganyika).

 

Matches set for tomorrow are Burkina Faso vs Kurugenzi (Jamhuri), Majimaji vs Polisi Iringa (Majimaji)  in Group A while Group B games involve Transit Camp vs Villa Squad (Karume) and Green Warriors vs Moro United (Mlandizi).
