Defending champions Simba are expected to revenge as they host Mtibwa Sugar in a Mainland Premier League match at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam today.

The visiting side wounded Simba by hitting them 2-0 in the first leg in November last year.

The sugar men’s win resulted into chaos at Simba club premises when the team’s branch famous as Mpira Pesa accused goalie Juma Kaseja and teammates of being bribed by their opponents in the match staged at the Jamhuri Stadium in Morogoro.

The saga led to the suspension of the Magomeni-based branch. Kaseja refused to continue being in the goal and asked Simba officials to give him a rest of three months of which he skipped two games only before returning.

The defeat also contributed to the sacking of coach Milovan Circovic.

Simba new coach Patrick Liewig is supposed to be exceptionally keen in the game as he risks plenty if he loses or drops a point.

The Dar es Salaam side go into the game with high morale after defeating hosts Tanzania Prisons 1-0 in the last Wednesday’s game at the Sokoine Stadium, Mbeya.

Mtibwa Sugar will also be targeting their first win since the second leg kicked off. The fact that the Turiani team have no win in the second leg but this doesn’t mean that Simba will win.

It must be noted that Mtibwa Sugar are one of the teams which give strong opposition to big teams like Yanga and Simba. It is a physique side blending with tactics.

Simba are placed third in the league with 31 points while the visitors are seventh with 24 points.
