CRDB Bank turned a 51bn/- profit before tax and increased its deposits to 2.4trn/- last year.

This was revealed yesterday in Dar es Salaam by CRDB Bank Managing Director Dr Charles Kimei at a business breakfast organized for customers by the bank and PTA bank.

He said CRDB had an impressive record in financial performance as it had maintained a strong capital base and become a market leader in deposits, loans and assets.

“The good financial performance is attributed to an expanded network of 75 branches, 10 mobile branches, more than 200 ATMs, 600 point of sale terminals, 480 microfinance partners as well as innovative products and services, and a loan portfolio that stood at 1.4 trn/-,” he said.

Dr Kimei added that the bank was proud of being one of the stakeholders in supporting key economic development sectors in the country.

However, he said as corporate customers they understood that their customers had special business needs that were exclusive. “That is why we design special products in credit, trade finance, investments and payment services for them,” he siad.

Additionally, he said they had increased access through acquiring and issuing world renowned debit cards by partnering with world giant card companies such as VISA and MasterCard to produce customised TemboCard Visa and TemboCardMasterCard.

“I am glad to say that this partnership has continued blossoming as we relish financing some key projects to economic and social development of the East African region,” he said.
