Tanzania Swimming Association (TSA) has organised a course for coaches to be held in Dar es Salaam next month.
TSA secretary general Noel Kiunsi said his association expects the course to sharpen the skills of the country’s coaches.
Kiunsi declined to mention the venue of the course expected to take nine days duration from May 9.
Theories and practical trainings are the major ingredients of the course as confirmed by Kiunsi.
He said the program has been designed to educate and train coaches to ensure that they are given every opportunity to develop their skills and further the development of aquatic games in the country.
“We expect the course to have a very positive impact on the national development of competitive swimming by providing a unique chance for the country swimming club coaches,” he said
Kiunsi said TSA will continue providing training to coaches who are active in their discipline so that they access high level of training, knowledge and experience.
The TSA official could not say how many coaches have confirmed to turn up but said the course is open to all who are interested in learning new skills.
In a related development, Kiunsi said preparations for the next national championship are at advanced stage.
He said TSA technical and competition committee has agreed that the tournament will be held at Heaven of Peace pools on between May 7 and 8.
