The National Bank of Commerce (NBC) has launched a two and half month campaign for its Islamic banking customers, whereby it will pick winners of two fully paid packages for two to perform Hajj this October.
The campaign was launched in Dar es Salaam as part of the banks 45 years of banking service celebrations. Customers will be rewarded with various gifts and prizes during the occasion.
Speaking at the Occasion, NBC’s Islamic Banking Acting Head, Yassir Masoud said: “This campaign is not only to celebrate 45 years of providing quality banking services to our loyal customers but also to celebrate two years of offering Islamic banking services to our customers”.
He added: “We have discussed various options of how we could reward our loyal Islamic banking customers and this campaign came as our solution.”
“This is the first time such a campaign is being conducted in the country and we encourage all our loyal customers and anyone who is interested to fully participate and stand a chance to win this unique opportunity,” Masoud said.
NBC started offering Islamic Banking services in May 2010. Currently the services offered are Islamic savings and current accounts, as well as the recently launched Islamic business and corporate accounts.
These products are interest free, in compliance with Shari’ah laws, and are open to any customers who are interested irrespective of their faith.
The launched campaign will culminate in a grand draw to select the winners, on September 13, 2012. The winners will win a fully paid package for two to perform Hajj. Inclusive in the package are flight tickets, accommodation and spending money during their time in Mecca.
*On Monday we inadvertently published an article stating that the bank is out to set up a bank account for Muslims going for pilgrimage to Mecca. The fact is that the bank started Islamic banking services in May 2010. We apologise for any incontinence the article may have caused.
