Kagame Cup holders Young Africans (Yanga) have kicked off training session at their Kaunda Stadium backyard as they gear up for title retention bid next month.

Yanga, who are yet to confirm their new coach in a wake of speculation involving the former Taifa Stars coach Marcio Maximo, they are currently under stand in coach Fred Felix ‘Minziro’.

A total of nine players were seen training yesterday as more are expected today.

Yanga fans flocked at Kaunda Stadium eagerly to have a glance of Nizar Khalfan who was playing professional soccer in America.

Other players seen during the yesterday’s training session include midfielder Athumani Iddi, Godfrey Taita, Nsa Job, Omega Seme and Ghanaian duo Yaw Berko and Kenneth Asamoah.

Minziro is confident of his squad as he waits to welcome more players, including new signings accrued from the ongoing transfer window.

Taita ducked reports that they might not be able to retain the title and instead he said they are hot favourites for the crown.
