Ramadhani Singano’s jersey was sold highly at a Simba SC auction in Dar es Salaam on Friday.
The jersey of the youthful Simba striker was bought at Sh2m by club member John Bukuku who beat Shaffih Dauda.
Simba players’ jerseys were sold after the club had launched its TV programmes to be aired on local television stations.
A jersey number 6 of former Simba player Hamisi Kilomoni was bought at Sh1.7m by the club’s vice chairman Geofrey Nyange.
Mwinyi Kazimoto’s outfit was bought at Sh1m by the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) second vice chairman, Ramadhani Nassib.
Former Fifa players’ agent Damas Ndumbaro bought Shomary Kapombe’s jersey at Sh1m.
The jerseys of other players who were bought are Juma Kaseja (Sh 500,000), Emmanuel Okwi (Sh. 600,000), Felix Sunzu (Sh 600,000), Kelvin Yondani (Sh 400,000), Nassor Masoud 'Chollo' (Sh 410,000) and Patrick Mafisango (Sh. 200,000).
Simba chairman Ismail Rage said the aim of launching TV programmes was promoting the club locally and outside.
He said the programmes will show different club games, training, players’ backgrounds and social activities.
The guest of honour was Regional Administration and Local Governments deputy minister Kassim Majaliwa.
