Azam striker John Bocco

Azam striker John Bocco who has recently announced to give a back to the Tanzania national soccer team has scored 16 goals in the ongoing Mainland premiership.

The towering striker has a two-goal gap to duplicate the existing record set by former Yanga player Boniface Ambani in the 2008/9 season.

The record was subsequently duplicated by former Simba striker sold to DC Motema Pembe, Musa Hassan in 2009/10 season.

The striker has opened a five goal cushion to Simba’s Ugandan striker Emmanuel Okwi who has eleven to his credit after 22 league appearance.

With four rounds of matches to e played Bocco stands a chance to duplicate and even break the record pf 18 goals.

The free scoring striker will possibly be in coach Stewart Hall’s line up when his team meet relegated haunted Police Dodoma, Mtibwa Sugar, Kagera Sugar and Toto Africa.

Besides Okwi other contenders for the golden boot award include Villa Squad’s Nsa Job who has ten goals but will have to work beyond the call of duty to beat inform Bocco.
