Defending champions Young Africans (Yanga) will tomorrow play Mafunzo of Zanzibar in a Cecafa Kagame Cup quarter final.
The game will be the second after the first quarter pitting Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) and APR of Rwanda.
Mainland champions Simba who yesterday drew 1-1 with Vita Club of Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) will play Azam FC in another quarter on Tuesday. The match will be the second after Atletico of Burundi play Vita Club in the first match of the day.
All matches will be staged at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Haruna Moshi equalized for Simba in the 66th minute in yesterday’s game before Felix Sunzu missed a penalty for the home side on the 90th minute.
The DRC side scored first through a well taken penalty shot by Etekiama Teddy in the 34th minute. The penalty was awarded when Juma Nyoso handled the ball as he was moving to clear the ball from the danger.
Hopes of Kenya’s Tusker FC who were also eyeing the quarters berth was dented by Azam FC when they forced a barren draw in yesterday’s first game.
The Kenyan champions needed to beat the home side to guarantee qualification to the knockout stage.
Azam and Mafunzo progressed from a superior goal tally of one goal scored against one goal conceded, while Tusker finished without a goal in three matches.
