The Tanzania Football Federation has wished the best of luck Mainland premier soccer league champions samba who board a flight to Khartoum ahead of their Confederation Cup return leg tie against Al Ahly Shandy.
Simba players and officials are boarding the flight to Khartoum today to acclimatize with the weather ahead of their return leg match to be played in Shandy township on Sunday night.
The team leave early to be accustomed to the environment despite excessive confidence and psychological boost attained from a handsome 3-0 goal victory during the first leg.
The football federation has also send congratulations to Simba after wining the Mainland premiership title on May 6 and crowned a day after at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Confident Simba players are upbeat to sail through and play the CAF league’s last eight round involving six matches in home and away pattern.
He match in Shandy will be played under floodlights as Simba need to draw or lose the match by not more than three goals.
Hosts Shandy must overturn the first leg score by four goals while keeping a clean sheet throughout the regulation 90 minutes.
The samba contingent will be under an executive committee member of the TFF Hussein Mwamba and expect to return on May 15.
Simba dated Al Shandy after eliminating Algeria’s Entente Setif and Rwanda’s Kiyovu Sport in the second and first rounds, respectively.
The Mainland champion is the only team remaining into continental berth after three others were eliminated at the preliminary stages.
