Through its corporate social responsibility, mobile network firm Zantel has spent 12m/- in the purchase of 10 motorcycles for community policing and water well drilling in Zanzibar.
This was revealed at a press conference in Dar es Salaam yesterday by Zantel commerce director Mohamed Mussa. He said apart from donating motorcycles and drilling water wells, the company expects to contribute more in education and sports before the end of this year.
“We don’t only give back to the society in the Isles, but also in the Mainland as witnessed during the flood disaster last year when we played our part to make sure that we support our customers and flood victims as part of our responsibility,” he noted.
He said in the Isles the firm has allocated the budget of USD5m for corporate social responsibility for this year alone.
Zantel Chief Commercial Officer Ahmed Mokhles said his office has launched two exciting new offers, ‘Freedom’ and ‘Uhuru’, for all its customers in Tanzania, making Zantel the most affordable network in the country.
“With ‘Freedom’ offer, our customers in the Mainland will be able to call for half a 0.50/- per second all day and also call other networks for 2/- per second all day. To top up the customers will also be able to call five popular international destinations for only one shilling per second,” he said.
On other side, the Commercial Director Mussa claimed that his company has now revamped itself to offer not only affordable but quality services to their customers giving them value for their money.
