Zimbabwe women national soccer team is expected in Dar es Salaam today ahead of their rescheduled international friendly against Twiga Stars on Saturday.

The match will be played at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam and serve as build up for either side ahead of final qualifier rounds of the Women African Championship.

Hosts Twiga Stars are gearing up for their crucial qualifier round match against Ethiopia with the first leg to be played in Addis Ababa on May 26.

A contingent comprising 25 players and officials are on board the flight heading to Dar es Salaam today in readiness for the match.

Earlier, the Zimbabwe Football Association had requested to have a friendly international with the Tanzanian side but surprisingly made eleventh-hour cancellation last month.

Stars are camping at the Ruvu JKT in Coast region as they strongly in need to win the qualifier berth for the eighth finals to be staged in Equatorial Guinea later in November.

The Tanzanian side came into huge limelight when they made their maiden appearance during the previous edition of the championship staged in South Africa in 2010.

Stars have embarked on a countrywide tour as they play friendlies to shape up the team before boarding the flight to Addis Ababa.

The team was expected to play an under 17 combined team of Dodoma region in a friendly at the Jamhuri Stadium yesterday.

The team has another friendly against a team in Mwanza to be played at the CCM Kirumba Stadium tomorrow before boarding a flight back to their base in Dar es Salaam.

The Stars date Ethopia after breezing past Namibia in 1 7-2 goal aggregate thriller last March.
