Beauty contestants visit Sokoine family

Miss Tanzania contestants in Maasai attire pose for a group photo during their recent visit to northern Tanzania ahead of primer beauty pageant pageantry to be held in Dar es Salaam next month.

Miss Tanzania contestants have continued their northern Tanzania entourage that included the graveyard of the late Prime Minister Edward Sokoine in Monduli over the weekend.

The beauty continent was welcomed by the late premier’s daughter Namelok who is a special seat Member of Parliament for ruling political party, CCM.

Miss Sokoine briefed the visitors on her late father’s political career before visiting the cemetery.

Namelok also told the contestants on the importance of sensitizing the public on tourism activities.

She also told them to make use of the opportunity in highlighting the need for Maasai families on the importance of education.

Vodacom Tanzania’s information officer Matina Nkurlu who accompanied the beauty contestants said it has been a worth for the entire contingent after gaining knowledge.

The visitors also toured Maasai Girls School before having dinner with the Sokoine family members.

The Miss Tanzania contestants are still touring other tourist destination in Northern Tanzania including Ngorongoro national park.

Miss Tanzania contest will be held at the Mlimani City in Dar es Salaam on September 10.
