Holders Young Africans and their archrivals Simba are expected to be in action this afternoon as they play Coastal Union and African Lyon at the Mkwakwani in Tanga and National Stadium in Dar es Salaam respectively.

The two matches are likely to be followed with a tenacious zeal by most of the Mainland premiership followers.

A slip up by one of the two football giants is likely to halt title aspirations, particularly at this time when the league comes close to an end.

While holders Yanga are third placed in the standings table with 43 points to stay four adrift of rivals Simba and a game in hand, urgently need to win to keep up the pace and redeem title retention bid quest.

The pace makers Simba would like to widen their four-point gap and gain a psychological advantage as they travel to Algiers for their return leg match against Es Setif in the CAF Confederation Cup .

Lyon are no strange to Simba and the match can go either way particularly at this time when survival in the premiership berth is a top priority.

Lyon is one of the teams that held Simba to a 1-1 draw during the 2009/10 premiership season when Simba ended the league with a record 22-match unbeaten run.

With 18 points to their credit and a slim two-point cushion from the dreadful relegation borderline, Lyon are likely to go for victory.

In Tanga, hosts Coastal Union will be hard to concede a defeat at the hands of Yanga that handed them a 5-0 devastating defeat during the first leg tie played at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam during the first half of the season last year.

Coastal, who regained top flight berth this season, are safe from the relegation shockwaves but revenge is a top priority as confirmed by their coach Jamhuri Kihweklo.

Yanga will be praying not to concede a defeat to Coastal Union as this would complicate their title dream.

Dodoma-based referee Rashid Msangi will be assisted by Ruvuma linesmen duo of Rashid Lwena and Issa Malimali during the match.

In Dar es Salaam, Simba-Lyon match will be under the control of Amon Paul from Musoma.

The weekend will be concluded by premiership match between Azam and Ruvu JKT at the   Chamazi Stadium in Dar es Salaam tomorrow.
