For the first time the Tanzania Football Coaches Association (Tafca) will not vote at the general election of the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) slated for February 24 in Dar es Salaam.
The merit of voting disappeared when TFF postponed the Tafca general election which was supposed to be staged in the city yesterday.
TFF Information Officer Boniface Wambura said yesterday that the election was pushed back because the number of candidates who applied for election did not meet Tafca’s constitution requirements.
He mentioned another factor which led to the postponement that Tafca did not submit its election road map to the TFF’s election committee.
The TFF election committee is to start afresh the Tafca election process which will this time meet constitutional requirements.
This is the second time the body fails to stage its election because of the same regulatory problem.
Tafca has not held a general meeting and executive committee meetings for the past four years.
Three voters from Tafca would have voted at the TFF general elections, namely the body’s chairman, secretary general and one executive committee member, the TFF official noted.
